'Of' iyelik eki

İngilizce "of" kelimesinin iyelik eki olarak kullanımı şu şekildedir.

Cansız varlıklar için kullanımı: isim + of + isim Örnekler: The bank is at the end of the road. Banka yolun sonunda. There is a cafe at the top of the hill. Tepenin zirvesinde bir kafe var.

front, back, side, top, bottom, end, beginning 'dan sonra daima "of" kullanırız. It's in the front of the car. Arabanın önünde. "It is in the car sport." şeklinde kullanmayız!

Yaygın olarak kullanılan isimlerle birlikte "of" kullanmak gereksiz. (ör: car, school, town, garden, kitchen, bedroom, sea, country, hotel) Have you got the car keys? Arabanın anahtarları sende mi? Can you close the bathroom door? Banyonun kapısını kaparmısın?

Yokuşun en altında yaşıyorlar.
• There's an old tree at the side of the house. (house/side)
